Job Summary:

As a member of the engineering team, this position will be responsible for the qualification of our upcoming Gen4 NVMe test platform SBExpress-RM4 as it exits the prototype stage and enters the market.  SANBlaze will be the first to offer a Gen4 NVMe platform and the key to the qualification role will be to ensure the system meets the level of quality our customers demand. 

The successful candidate must have a working knowledge of Storage Protocols and concepts including Block, File and Object storage, Storage Area Network (SAN) concepts and transports including NVMe, SAS, FibreChannel, and Ethernet.  We value highly independent thinkers and self-motivated employees who can interpret, improve and execute test plans to ensure complete test coverage and quality software. The successful candidate should bring knowledge of automated test methodology to streamline the qualification as much as possible.
 

Responsibilities:
 

• Play a lead role in the qualification of SBExpress software and the VLUN storage emulation system, including:

  • Verifying and closing software bugs

  • Performance testing

  • New features testing

  • Automation of testing to reduce the amount of repetitive testing

• Play a lead role in systems support, including

  • Fielding customer questions as the first line of response, and elevating issues to the engineering team

  • Tracking issues in the JIRA and Bugzilla systems, entering issues as they are reported and following up until closed

• Reproduce customer configurations for both troubleshooting and design validation
   

Requirements:
 

• BSEE/BSCS

• 3-5 years’ experience in test and/or software engineering

• Basic storage products and protocol knowledge (NVMe, FC, FCoE, SCSI, iSCSI, RoCE)

• OS and systems familiarity with Linux and Windows

• Knowledge of storage and network controllers

• Software test experience, including bash, python or perl scripting
   

Reporting:
 

The Software Qualification Engineer will report to the VP of Software Engineering.

Travel:
 

Occasional travel may be required.
