FMS 2023: Optimal Testing of SSD Low Power States

At FMS 2023, the Symbiosys Alliance booth featured a demonstration of advanced test and validation solutions for SSD low power sub-states.

SerialTek Kodiak protocol analyzer, Quarch Power Analysis tools, and SANBlaze SBExpress-DT5 test system

Presenting on this topic, Anthony Andrews, Sr. Software Engineer at SerialTek, showed how QA teams can use these tools to ensure compliance and meet sustainability goals.

To demonstrate the optimal testing procedures of low power sub-states, Anthony used tools from three Symbiosys Alliance companies, including SerialTek's Kodiak protocol analyzer, Power Analysis tools from Quarch, and the SANBlaze SBExpress-DT5 test system.

These complementary technologies will allow participants to see a real-world end-to-end test environment for full transparency.

SANBlaze also displayed their new Flexible Data Placement (FDP) test suite. SANBlaze tests SSDs for compliance in supporting the open source spec for FDP, the technology that won "Best in Show" at FMS 2023. See SANBlaze's recent press release to learn more.

SANBlaze Announces OCP Test Suite

SANBlaze released major enhancements to its widely adopted NVMe qualification platform. The company’s Certified by SANBlaze test suite update, available via versions 10.5 and 10.5.1, now supports all aspects of NVMe qualification with the addition of Open Compute Project (OCP) 2.0 and Low Power Sub-states validation. Advanced capabilities also include PCIe Single Root I/O Virtualization (SR-IOV), ZNS, VDM, TCG, SRIS/SRNS clocking, OPAL, and T10/DIF. A variety of updates for APIs and Linux are included. See SANBlaze's recent press release to learn more.

SANBlaze is a pioneer in storage testing and validation technologies. SANBlaze systems are deployed in the test and development labs of most major storage hardware and software vendors worldwide.

SANBlaze is revolutionizing the NVMe SAN and PCIe device qualification markets by offering NVMe testing end-to-end. We are first to market a solution that tests Native NVMe and NVMe over Fabrics (NVMe-oF™) for complete end-to-end testing of your entire system using single port or dual port drives.
