Multi-Initiators and VLAN Support for NVMe-oF™

Updated: Nov 25, 2019

By: Patty Brogdon | August 29, 2018 | SANBlaze As businesses continue to adopt NVMe over Fabrics (Ethernet, Infiniband, Fibre Channel), collectively known as NVMeoF™, SANBlaze continues to add enhancements to enable NVMe SSD drive testing against all of the features that NVMe has to offer.

Recently, SANBlaze added increased scalability testing support for NVMe over Fabrics ports allowing up to 288 unique initiator or targets per port, providing multi-initiator simulated testing that mimics the real-world flawlessly and without a rack full of equipment. These unique individual initiators can be configured to have unique IP addresses per device, or a shared IP address with each device having a unique NQN (NVMe Qualified Name). This allows for the flexibility to test scalability in multiple ways allowing you to simulate any type of real-world environment.

The SANBlaze team has also added compatibility with all lab and network configurations by adding VLAN support for NVMe over Fabrics.
